Geoffrey Brown believes in the future. Today and everyday he is designer for business and pleasure. Currently, Geoffrey operates as a Product Designer at Twitter, where he makes design decisions that effect millions of people across the world. Geoffrey was previously the interaction design lead at IDEO New York, a world wide design and innovation firm based in Silicon Valley.
Responsible for collaborating with the @Design team, both in New York and in San Francisco to coordinate, design and build products relating to core services.
Responsible for tightly working with fellow IDEO designers and clients on projects ranging from the design and development of medical software, social and government enterprises, consumer electronics, luxury automobiles and financial services firms in the US and Asia. Day to day work revolves primarily around interaction design that meets and exceeds the needs of actual human beings. Additional responsibilities include mentoring new interaction designers at IDEO, helping to imagine the future role of software development for IDEO NY and helping to screen and interview new design candidates to help grow the team to meet the needs of the future.
Responsible for helping lead a small team of designers and engineers scope, plan, design, prototype and engineer consumer and enterprise software applications and websites in short sprints directly with tight client engagement. Produced and lead design of visual comps, interaction design concepts, as well as contributing to working HTML, CSS and Javascript prototypes in an iterative and transparent process.
Responsible for helping to design innovative, unique and detail-oriented solutions for a desktop software focused startup. Worked directly with the Creative Director to provide visual comps, behavioral specifications and interaction concepts, as well as produce marketing collateral and videos for users, conference needs and VCs.
Worked to deliver textured on-brand design solutions ranging from interactive banner campaigns to highly involved video-based client sites. Worked within the design team to provide hands-on leadership for other designers, collaborate with peers and take creative direction from both clients and leadership staff.
Worked as a vital team member and high level creative contributor for innovative software and web based projects for Fortune 100 companies, as well as smaller businesses and non-profit organizations.
Worked with a mid-size, interdisciplinary team consisting of Industrial Designers & Information Architects to produce innovative new design solutions within Kodak’s diverse product portfolio.
